Overview

Gosainkunda Lake Trek is a beautiful high-altitude trek in Nepal’s Langtang region, famous for the sacred Gosainkunda Lake at 4,380 m / 14,370 ft. The trail passes through lush forests, traditional Tamang and Sherpa villages, alpine landscapes, and rugged mountain terrain, with views of Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, and surrounding peaks. The trek usually takes 5–7 days and is considered moderate to challenging, particularly because of the high altitude and steep sections. Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) are generally the best seasons, offering clearer skies and favorable trekking conditions.

Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche through scenic countryside, hills, and mountain landscapes. Dhunche is the main gateway to the Gosainkunda trekking route. Drive: 6–7 hrs. Altitude: 1,950 m / 6,400 ft

Trek through forests and traditional mountain settlements toward Thulo Syabru, enjoying views of the surrounding hills and mountains. Trek: 5–6 hrs. Altitude: 2,230 m / 7,316 ft

Continue uphill through beautiful rhododendron and pine forests to Sing Gompa, also known as Chandanbari. Trek: 5–6 hrs. Altitude: 3,330 m / 10,925 ft

Trek through alpine landscapes toward the sacred Gosainkunda Lake, passing several smaller lakes and enjoying panoramic Himalayan views. Trek: 5–6 hrs. Altitude: 4,380 m / 14,370 ft
